Crossroads of Faith

The crossroads! So many directions to go. It seems like you are never entirely sure which way to go if you have never been there before. Even if you have plotted one course, would the other road be better?
The funny thing about crossroads is they are always in lower areas. You have a small perspective on the paths. Depending on the road you take you could ascend a mountain or find yourself in a low valley or, in cases, impending doom. This weary traveler is once again at the crossroads.

Optimistic
The traveling continues. You have to be optimistic. I feel the path will be bright and beautiful. I sense a new feeling on the horizon. The sun will rise to bring the dawn of a new day. A bright day!
Yet here I stand on the crossroads.

The Rearview
The past! Imagine how hard it is for a historian to leave the past alone. How long can I look back on the scenes of previous journeys before I lose sight of the road ahead.

The Journey
A good trip is not about the destination as much it is about the journey. We are traveling and timeless beings. This entire existence is a mere section of our continuing journey. I am enjoying the journey. Yet now I am at the crossroads.

Guidance
A good traveler seeks wisdom from those who have traveled the path before; maps, descriptions, and advice. Our holy guide is there! He has trodden the path of us all.

Before the Dawn
The most exhilarating time for a traveler is before the sun rises. The air cools to nip at his cold face. The wind rushes in response to the change. All is quiet as everything anticipates the piercing of the sun on the horizon. Night and Day continue in their constant struggle for rule.

Come weary travelers take the journey. Find the joy of discovery and movement. See the beauty of this journey; LIFE and Eternity always moving forward. Carried through peril. Looking back to see the footprints.
When a crossroad comes take the high road, chose the path or righteousness and faith. Chose the path of happiness and see the prints in his hands and feet and know you never walk alone.

Tow me a River: I'm sorry Ceasar Rodriguez

A satirical response to poor Ceasar Rodriguez

We all hate the typical parking situation in Provo. You go to visit a friend but you always have park somewhere to avoid the leech, vermin known as the towing companies. I have had run ins with these vultures of society. My latest encounter happened last night. This was an odd case. I found myself in a situation I hate to be in. I had to release the merciless feeder on one of my fellow sufferers.

Yes, I called the towing company to remove a car from my designated slot. This blog is a response to that poor fellow Ceasar Rodriguez. Ceasar, I am sorry I had to act as an arbiter of justice in this case. I hate the towing companies. Sadly, this is why I had to take action. I had done nothing wrong, but you parking in my spot would cause me to violate parking rules. This would result in the towing of my vehicle. Since you were violating the rules, you had to face the consequences.

Now Ceasar before you become angry, I will itemize the actions I have taken to save you from this unfortunate, heavy handed consequence. First off, this is not the first time you have taken my spot. Remember when you parked there a few weeks ago. I tried to see if you were visiting my building but it didn't seem to be the case. Well a kind sole let me use their spot. This alleviated my anxiety of being towed, so I slept on it.

Last night you chose my spot again. I made every effort to find you as my anxiety increased. I constantly looked out the window for you or a tow truck to sweep away my vehicle and 175 bucks. I canvassed my side of the building but to no avail. Using my privileged connections, I ran your plate to locate you. I had no phone number. I looked you up on Stalker Net (Route Y) and Facebooked you, still no leads. I waited till nearly 10 P.M. You still did not show up. I had little choice Ceasar, it was you or me. A second offense! You needed to feel the consequences of your actions. It usually takes one time before you learn how careful you must be with parking.

Ceasar, where ever you are, I hope you are not devastated and cannot buy your Christmas gifts. I hope this did not financially limit your trip home for Christmas. I feel much like the creditor who has to collect on the debt. You may ask where is mercy, I hope you see the large amount of effort and mercy I have exercised before the great sword of justice attacked your wallet.

Merry Christmas Ceasar! Guest spots allow you to park for four hours. Sorry you had to suffer the cruel consequences from a merciless and insatiable feeder.

Your fellow sufferer,
Bryce Bird

Lookin Sharp, not so epic Mickey, and Manpo

This week offers a few instances of note. I am in search of the ultimate pencil sharpener! ULTIMOSHARP! Yeah, I know, it seems lame to many of you but I need a good pencil sharpener. You have no idea what a good sharpener could do for my everyday life. I even spent some time online looking for a good one. The best yet costs around 100 bucks. Ha like I will spend that much. Some people said it is cheap trash. Although it has a nice metal casing etc., the gears are plastic. Now some of you may say, "Bryce why are you talking about looking for pencil sharpeners when you should be looking for girls!" Re: my Elephant chair status on Facebook. Well I would have to say finding the perfect pencil sharpener seems much more practical and consumer oriented. You can check out the merchandise, read reviews online from others who have used the product, and make a well informed decision. Now I could look online for "girls"; I think they call that stalking and it is creepy. So I will stick with looking for a pencil sharpener; although there is Facebook stalking umm ok moving on...

I have watched a few trailers of Disney's newest game on the Wii. The not so epic Mickey. I was not impressed at all. It seemed like any other 3D RPG. I expected something new and innovative. Mickey is jumping around all the time making Karate noises. The only redeeming gameplay may come from the magic brush and the reuniting with Oswald. Who is Oswald? Good old html links. So they game is getting a "what" rating on IGN. I agree!

Donkey Kong RETURNS!! Thanksgiving! I will say no more!

Last, but not least! In search of the Castaways what a surreal movie. Like always, I fell asleep. That doesn't mean the movie wasn't good, I just can't help it. I would have to say the best thing to do is Enzhouy it! The only thing missing from this movie was Josh Pruett laughing and quoting his favorite lines.

So I have this friend who is going to the Man Expo this weekend or the Manpo. I guess we need an expo to show us how to be men. I wonder what people want men to be in this world. It seems they want them to be huge money makers, kinda dumb (sometimes smart) but decisive and dominant, tall, dark, handsome, good at sports, he is congratulated for his escapades with women, while the woman would be called a slut, he should like tools, have big muscles, I could go on.....maybe you could add more to this list.....I reject this pattern of what the world wants a man to be. For me a man is one who knows God and Jesus Christ. He wants what is best for his family over anything else. He strives to honor his fellow men. He is patient, slow to anger, submissive, charitable, long suffering basically read D&C 121. I for one don't need a mass advertising Manpo to show me what a man should be. I have 16 great examples of what a man should be. Yet, I have to admit those products would be cool to check out.
Happy Manpo!

Beginning. . . a return of the TNB or umm SNB

In a large effort to branch out and expand my life, I am starting a blog!, Yeah that's right!, Me, the most self-contained and reserved bloke you have ever known, is starting a blog. (That sentence took too long to edit). In starting this blog I hope to share the wonderful events of this life(and random cool stuff). Any event can be wonderful if you look at it the right way. Some just suck, some are amazing, some are random, some wake you wanna....you get the point.

I hope this blog will serve as a strength and also a source of richness and humor as I share more of my great experiences. WARNING! Some of the content may become riddled with inside jokes, off the cuff ramblings, and cryptic content. Yes! Cryptic content! I often enjoy speaking in code or saying things in unique ways. It makes life more fun.

Yes! I know my audience base may be limited to a handful of interested compadres you know who your are Mario, Luigi, Princess Cheap, and the little rat whom we will not name or should not be named but not you Bowser.

Over the past little while I feel I am crawling out of a dark cave I have been in for far too long. It is wonderful to see where I am going. I feel like the old man from the Count of Monte Cristo who saw the sky for the first time in 8 yrs. (Can you even imagine?) Edmond Dantes 13 years in the Chateau Duu F. We put ourselves in our own prisons sometimes. I for one have made a jailbreak and am never going back. Life is too short to dwell in such a place. Yet, unlike Edmund I am not seeking for any revenge and sadly I don't know where to find any buried treasure so I won't become some rogue Duke in Eastern Europe. Although I do wonder what my duke name would be.
I feel more than ever the Lord is guiding me toward something wonderful. He is also pleased with the things I am doing; and my very mindset.

Well I could go on but yeah..... if you read this far that is a great feat in and of itself.

Stay tuned for the next installment of ______(fill in the blank) Night Blog.

Just for you Guy Sensei (or however you spell that junk!)

You can do it with the power of YOUTH!!!!
